Historically, the “pre-tied(ready-made) type” has existed since the late 19th century, when bow ties first became popular, as has the “self tie type”. Both have coexisted for a long time, but the “pre-tied type” is more common today.

The "Crossed-bow-knot square-end" is the shape of a pre-tied bow tie that imitates a the "Square-end" of the self-tie bow tie tied with a "Crossed-bow-knot".

Historically, it can be seen in photographs from the early 1900s, and seems to have been popular with women as well as men.
